The Reality of One
For the next 8 weeks (except for Mother’s and Father’s Day Sundays) I will be preaching on the theme of “Who’s Your One?” The first three messages, all from Luke 15, are a build-up to the five sermons that our SBC President JD Greear has sent to our SBC Churches as a guideline topic for “The One” evangelistic challenge. This year, I as your Pastor, am challenging you to win just one person to Christ; just “One”. The objective of winning just one person to Christ is about as biblical as it can get. In mathematics, you begin with the number one. The Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20 begins with "One". The verses in Luke 15 testify to the reality of “One” in evangelism. The message is "The Reality of One" (Luke 15:1-4a, 8) as Jesus teaches us through these two parables the “Reality of One”. They are not faceless or soulless people; they are real people with real souls. Until they become real to you, you will not be concerned over the “One”. Who is your “One”?
